Center Mission Statement

This center is designated as an institute-level center, with the mission of integrating various Korea-related academic activities conducted on campus.

For undergraduate-oriented Korean Studies programs, the center organizes workshops involving field visits to Korea for students with higher Korean language proficiency. For those with lower proficiency, the center collaborates with universities in Taiwan engaged in Korean Studies research to host joint workshops and K-Cafe (Korean chatting room).

For graduate students and scholars, the center provides academic scholarships and research grants to encourage thesis submissions and publications.

For the general public, the center will dispatch Korean language teachers (assistants) to offer on-site tutoring at junior and senior high schools, as well as organize Korean cultural festivals.

In addition, the center will plan and offer Korean Studies-related courses and develop Korean Studies teaching materials.

Center Missions

(1) Core Missions

  • To meet university students’ needs for understanding and learning Korean Studies through a variety of programs.

  • To foster high-quality research papers in Korean Studies by supporting graduate students and researchers.

  • To organize activities related to the Korean language and Korean Studies culture, such as competitions, camps, cultural festivals, lectures, workshops, and exhibitions.

  • To cultivate talent in Korean language and Korean Studies education.

  • To enhance public awareness and favorable perception of Korea and Korean Studies among individuals outside the university.
